He is the grandson of musician Late.Narayana Iyyangar. He is also known for his performances which won him lot of awards like 'Kumar Gandharva Samman Award', 'Lion International Award', 'Sangeetha Soodamani', 'Sangeetha Rathnagar', 'Kalaimamani Award' , 'Lifetime Achievement Award' and he has won several foreign awards.

My. Ravikiran was born on February 12, 1967 in a musical family at "Mysore" in Karnataka state of India. His father name is Narasimman and his father and grandfather are renowned in Indian classical music. Besides, his grandfather, Narayana Iyyangar, is a renowned musician of the classic arts.
Early life and education
From his childhood he grew up as a learner of Indian classical music. His father, Narasimhan, was the first mentor to him. Ravikiran, who expressed miracles in Indian classical music at the very young age, also received the praise from many classical music experts and gurus.
As a Classic Musician
Ravicharan, who learned entire musical training under his father, started his music career as a musician in Coimbatore at the age of five in 1972.
Later, at the age of ten, he was engaged in a chitravina, and at the age of eleven he performed the first Chitravina concert. He became one of the Indian classical musicians over the next three years, and in July 1985, he performed a 24-hour musical concert in Chennai.
Not only in India, he continued to perform multiple concerts around the world, and soon won the "Sangeet Samrat" in the music world.
Successful Carrier
His hard work and effort in music endeavors have brought him to fame.
He has been awarded a brilliant performance in the ragas of the country, Gowla, Varali, Rabii, Ganapakasi, Srirangam and Narayan Gowla. He did his musical performances all over the world including the Keyville, Texas, and Britain.
He has done over 600 Indian classical music packages. Besides that, he has been a director, composer, writer, speaker and teacher.
