TENCO Foods- The Shiny Fresh Tender Coconut Water



In the hot summer season, there will be no other drink that can be encouraged than Tender coconut. Many of the streets in the Indian cities have been in line with the number of younger retailers standing up to sell the Tender Coconut water for the thirst of the people. Manikandan is doing this professionally and he started Tenco Foods.

Manikandan was able to analyze and understand why people stop the car on the roads when they see the Tender coconut shops. The tender coconuts are organic , natural and protein rich but the availablility and accessabilty of the tender coconot is not as the other packed aerated drinks in the market. 

Manikandan understood these two main factors are easy access and easy consumption which are unique points in marketing the tender coconut like other non healthy packed aerated drinks.

He then found the idea of Tenco Foods , he wanted to sell the tender coconuts professionally. Even manikandan was from farming family background , he realized and cultivated an idea of making tender coconut easily accessible and portable. He quit his job in Accenture and started his own company to sell tender coconuts.


Easy method to Open

Manikandan and his team created a new machine to cut the tender coconut. With this any one can open the tender coconut with small knife or small spoon.

And they have also designed a tender coconut opener with this even a children can open the tender coconut without much effort.Within less than three months time The Tenco foods designed their first cutting machine for Tender Cocounts and before launching in the market they have tested the machine with the local tender coconut vendors with good feedback.

"Now we sell 4000 tender coconuts a day." A year and a half ago we started selling only 50 tender coconuts per day, "says Manikandan.

Arpita, who has been in the 13 years of designing software platforms, guides the technical division in Tenco. Santosh Patel is a good experience in delivery management which handled his won startup "Vej wala". Akshay, who worked in various big companies, has been working for 15 years in marketing and advertising. Gautham is the youngest member of the team who has had 4 years experience in sales.

After everyone joined the group, it was not hard to get raw material. Each helped them to get the necessary supplies from their respective fields. To get the tender coconuts, they are always available to talk with local vendors.


Distribution and Revenue



We started with 50 tender coconuts every day and no we are selling 4,000 tender coconuts everyday and our monthly earnings reached Rs 30 lakh, which is believed to be double this summer.

Tenco currently offers tender coconuts to important stores such as Hypercity, Bigbazzar, Metro, Nilgiris, Namdharis, Natures basket. It is also available in online markets such as Amazon, Bigbasket and Dhoodhwala. 


Expansion

The company is currently operating in Bangalore and will soon expand to Chennai, Hyderabad, Pune, Mumbai and Delhi. It is interested in selling other coconut products Coconut milk, coconut sugar and coconut oil.

We are currently working in the Waste Management Division too. Coconut waste produces fiber, peat and high quality fertilizers. The farmers use this to get a organic output and a pesticide free environment. The market value of the tender coconut is Rs 12,000 crore annually. We are planning to capture 1% of the coconut market share.
