The Bhavani Sagar Dam is located near the village of Kothamangalam in Sathyamangalam circle in the district. The dam is surrounded by mountains and is a popular tourist destination. Besides, there is a palace at the place where the Bhavani Sagar Dam is still present, and a story is said to be visible to the upper part of the buried palace when the water level of the dam is greatly reduced.

Located in the Thanjavur district of Kallanai, considered the oldest dam in the world. The dam was built across the river Cauvery in 2nd Century AD by the Chola ruler Karikalan. Mettur Dam, which is located in the Salem district, is the largest dam in Tamil Nadu, built across the river Cauvery. It is also known as the Stanley Reservoir in the name of Stanley, the engineer who constructed this dam. The Electricity generated in this dam are being distributed throughout Dharmapuri District of tamilnadu. Apart from the park, water pumps and the surrounding hills, the Mettur Dam is a popular tourist attraction. The "Adi Perukku" is a famous festival celebrated here.
Aliyar dam

Aliyar dam is 24 km from Pollachi. The Aliyar Dam is constructed at a distance of 38 km from Valparai. The dam is 81 feet tall and is built between 1959 and 1969 with excellent engineering technology. There are a number of movies shot in this dam location and the tamil movie block buster "kathalikka Neramillai" which casted by Muthuraman and Ravichandran is a very famous one.

Vaigai dam is built across the Vaigai river near Andipatti in Theni District. It is a source of water for Madurai and Dindigul districts and is one of the major tourist attractions of Madurai. The Vaigai dam is also known for its picnic spot as it is also a boat ride.

Kodiveri Dam, is located on the Bhavani river near Gobichettipalayam in Western Tamil Nadu. It was constructed by Kongalvan(kongu Vettuva gounder) in the year 1125 AD. Creating the dam consisted of carving a 20-foot wall of rock. The stones were then interlocked with iron bars and lead was used as mortar. These features, however, are not visible except in the dry season when the water level in the river drops considerably The ride in this dam is one of the most popular among tourists. There are numerous films filmed in this dam.
Krishnagiri Dam
Krishnagiri Dam was constructed in 1958 with the aim of starting a reservoir between Dharmapuri and Krishnagiri in Krishnagiri. The natural environment of the dam and the artificial garden of the dam here is an alternative to the dilapidated city life and many tourists visit here. During the rainy season, the water is flooded up to the edge of the dam. The best time to visit Krishnagiri Dam is between November and March.
The Amaravathi Dam
The Amaravathi Dam is located 25 km from Udumalpettai in Coimbatore district. There is a crocodile park , aquarium park, a beautiful park situated in front of the dam and a children's park is a great attraction. The boat ride has been started two years before in Amaravati Dam due to the arrival of numerous tourists.
