Harivansh Rai Bachchan is a well-known poet of Hindi literature and great writer. His poetry was a fantastic creation of life and romantic feelings. The Hindi poem "Madushala", published in 1935, is considered one of the most famous. His great contribution to Hindi literature was given to the Padma Vibhushan by the Government of India in 1976. And won the "Soviet Land Nehru Award". He is the father of the famous Hindi film actor Amitabh Bachchan. Birth
Harivansh Rai Bachchan was born on November 27, 1907 in the village of Babupatti, near Allahabad, in the state of Uttar Pradesh, where he was born in a family called a Kayastha, the eldest son of Pratap Narayan Srivastav and Saraswati Devi.
Early life and education
He started his early education at a municipal school. He began studying from the Paathsalas from Kayastha and graduated from Allahabad University and Banaras Hindu University. After nearly ten years working as an English literature teacher at Allahabad University in 1941, he went to England for a further year in 1952 and earned his PhD in Cambridge University.
Early work done
After returning to India and finishing his doctorate in England, he continued his teaching work. At the same time he worked at "All India Radio" at Allahabad Station. He then went to Delhi in 1955 and joined the Indian External Affairs Ministry as the Hindi language officer. He worked there for about ten years. When Hindi became the official language of India, he came to work on translating Hindi literature, such as Makmath, Othello, Bhagwad Gita and Umargaiya, "Rubaiyaat".
His journey as the poet and translator
The Hindi poem "Madushala", published in 1935, has not only gained great popularity but has earned the respect of the people. In each of these lines he has revealed the marvelous problems of alcohol in human life. He is considered as one of the famous works of 'Madhubala' (1936) and 'Madagalash' (1937). In 1969, the first edition of the four-part autobiographical book was titled "Kia Bhooloon Kya Yaad Karoon". Then in 1970 he released the second edition of "Neerh ka nirmaan phir", the third edition of "Basere Se Dor" in 1977 and the fourth edition of "Dashdwaar se sopaan tak" in 1985. The version of "In the Afterlife of Time", translated into Hindi in 1998, is considered a mile stone in Hindi literature.
Marrage Life
Harivansh Rai Bachchan married his wife Shyama at the age of 19 in 1926. Shyama, who lived only about ten years with Harivansh Rai Bachchan, died of tuberculosis in 1936. After five years of loneliness she was married to Teji Shri, a second wife in 1941. They had two children Amitabh and Ajith Babu.

The late Harivansh Rai Bachchan, who suffered a respiratory problem, died on January 18, 2003 at the age of 95.
