Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana Abhiyan Scheme (PMJAY)
In India, even after 72 years of Independence it is doubtful that all sector people of society get proper medical facilities. The people below the poverty line, the lower segment and even the mid segment people cannot afford high cost medical treatments. The Government hospitals provide treatment but due to huge crowd and low quality facilities it is difficult to get a high quality and urgent treatments and even if one is ready , he or she needs to wait for a long time.
It is time to see the lime light for the families who suffer and unable to take high cost medical treatements in India. The India Government announced Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana which is going to help lot of families in India for medical treatments. The Scheme - Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana Abhiyan (PMJAY) was announced on September 25th on the birthday of RSS thinker Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya and it is one of the largest programs in the world.
In his Independence Day speech, Modi said the importance of Jan Arogya Yojana, which is implemented under Ayushmann Bharat Scheme, to ensure high quality medical care for poverty-stricken families in India.
Medical Facilities to 50 Crore people
According to the Economic Census Board, 8.3 crore families in rural areas and 2.33 crore families in urban areas have been found to be eligible for the scheme. Around 50 crore people in 10 crore families have been set up to provide medical facilities under Ayushman's program. It has been decided to treat Rs.5 lakh per family per family.
Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana Scheme
In various health care schemes including Swaj Bharat Abhiyan, the cost of treatment can be up to 3 lakh rupees and not all members of the family can benefit. But in Prime Minister Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana scheme all family members can get treatment.
Treatments
This program, which can treat thousands of diseases, can be operated for 25 diseases including heart disease, cancer and kidney failure. In this scheme children's affected with cancer are given priority. Besides surgery, it offers free medical packages.
Benefits & Process flow
Hospitalization
All patients, registered under this scheme will have to get admission in any of the hospitals, which feature in the empanelment list. Without hospitalization, they will not attain the benefits of cashless treatment.
Identification
The representatives at the hospital will check the ID and related papers to determine the identification of the patient
Registration
Once the identification is complete, the patient details will be registered for admission
Approval and Authorization
It is the responsibility of the hospital authority to check the remaining balance in the medical insurance card of the patient. After this, the hospital will figure out under which package the person needs to be admitted and treated.
Treatment
Once the documentation are complete, the patient will be treated by doctors.
Discharge
After the patient become to normal health and once the doctors feel that the patient is fit to go home , they will prepare necessary discharge documents.
Submission of Claim Application
The hospital representative will prepare discharge documents. Apart from this, they will attach treatment and post treatment details. Necessary papers with insurance claim application will be submitted ot the representative of the government department.
Claim Settlement
Once the claim papers have been carefully scrutinized by the government specialists, the hospital will receive the money in its bank account via e-transfer.
The future of medical treatment for Poor families
The Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana is one of the most ambitious projects of PM Modi. This project will be able to offer high cost better treatments for poor people if its successfully implemented with proper operation guidelines. It will also assist the central government to create a sound platform for future medical developments and will help to improve infrastructure of hospitals across country. With the implementation of the scheme PM Modi wants to improve the medical facilities of public hospitals at par with private hospitals. With proper infra , trained staff with modern equipments the public hospitals can provide better medical facilites like private hospitals.
